Research

1. Population and marine ecology, especially crabs, hermit crabs and other Crustacea. Invasive species of marine Crustacea.

2. Reproductive biology of Crustacea: comparative study of crab mating strategies, especially of NZ Grapsidae and Hymenosomatidae.

3. Decapod phylogeny, especially of the Anomura and Brachyura.

4. Systematics of the brachyuran families Dromiidae (sponge crabs) and Dynomenidae (coral crabs). Systematics of the NZ Decapoda.
