Research interests:
1. Developmental plant physiology with particular interests
in the roles of the plant hormones in growth and development. Current research
includes projects on phase change, flowering, pigments, fruit development
and senescence.
2. The interaction between the environment, the physiology
and the molecular biology underpinning flowering and perenniality in native
species.
3. Plant-microbe interactions with a particular focus on
the perturbation of plant hormones by the microbe and the mechanisms invoked
by the plant to retain hormone homeostasis
Frequently present talks to schools and community organisations on issues
relating to genetically modified organisms.
