Stop Press: if you haven't given Bill or myself feedback about Stage 2 offices please do so by the end of Monday. We meet with the architects Tuesday.
February always seems to be a short month - in reality, of course it is, but with lectures scheduled to start on the 22nd it is a timely reminder to all of us that the new 15 point structure requires some changes in lecture presentations and/or lab schedules - implicating the majority of the staff in the School.
As you will also now be aware this is the year when we move into the new building and vacate the old biology building. And of course, for academic staff, there are still overseas conferences that we would like to attend - usually in July/August when the first move takes place! For me this is the International Plant Growth Substance meeting which is held only once every three years - and it's in July in Spain (!). However, prior to the move into the research building there is essentially an audit of equipment being carried out - we want to, and need to, divest of all unused, and particularly unusable equipment - the email today giving notice on microscopes.
We had an ‘interim’ Health and Safety audit by the College – we are doing well, so please help us by keeping Health & Safety and compliance issues at the forefront as we begin a new year with many new postgraduate students joining us.
